Description: Ruins of a large mediaeval castle founded around 1320. Shortly afterwards, it came into the ownership of Margrave Jan Jindřich, during whose tenure the castle was enlarged and the fortifications improved. The end of Furchtenberg came in 1471 with the conquering armies of the Hungarian King Matyáš during the Czech Hungarian wars. A part of the ‘bergfrit tower’ has been preserved, and parts of the castle walls with a stone gate and the trunks of the defence towers.
