Description:	The building on the west side of the Hlohovecky pond was built in 1816-1827. The sign on the facade "Zwischen Österreich und Mähren" reminds us of the fact that its one half was built on the Austrian side and the other on the Moravian side. The frontier at that time went through the middle of one pond. The frontier was moved far south behind Valtice when Valtice became a part of Czechoslovakia in 1920. The chateau was built on pilots and grids because the pond level used to reach it.

Dobry den, rada bych se vyjadrila k zalezitosti, a take vypovida o tak castem nedostatecne urovni sluzeb, ktera se velice vyrazne podili na nechuti navstevnika vice na Jizni Morave utratit, ci pripadne nektere malebne lokality vubec navstivit. Jiz nekolikrat jsem s pritelem navstivila Hranicni zamecek, jelikoz stavba i okolni prostredi k navsteve opravdu lakaji. Navstiveni tohoto krasneho mista ma ovsem nekolik "ale". K tem mensim patri ne zcela dokonala uprava parkoviste a vstupniho predprostoru z parkoviste,predpokladam, ze mnoha navstevnikum toto nevadi. K tomu, co se neda jen tak prejit patri bohuzel uroven kuchyne v restauraci. Pri vsech navstevach jsme byli nespokojeni a vzdy po case jsme kuchyni vyzkouseli ze zvedavosti, zda se neco zlepsilo. Bohuzel, nutno rici, ze v restauraci, ktera se honosi jistym ocenenim a predevsim, ktera je v turisticky mezinarodne exponovanem prostredi dochazi ke kulinarskym excesum, ktere nejsou omluvitelne ani v putyce nejnizsi cenove skupiny. Dovedete si predstavit, co si pomysli prumerne kucharsky zdatny clovek o pokrmu, u ktereho je zrejme, ze byl vytazen z lednice a pak v mikrovlne troube nedopripraven tak, ze zvnejsku je horky a zevtnir naprosto prochladly? Chut polevky neni vysledkem poctive prace, ale rozvarenim jakesi kostky bujonu a hlavne presoleni. Nutno take rici, ze vyraz damy, ktera nas obsluhovala byl vse jine, nez neutralne profesionalni a uz vubec ne prijemny. Toto vse za cenu, za kterou je mozne obdrzet ve spickove restauraci formatu Valoria v Brne Hornich Herspicich pokrm spickove chuti. Uvedene nedostatky je jiste mozne v kratkem case odstranit...
