Description: | The Gothic castle built on a trade route in the middle of the 13th century was overcome by adversity several times, namely by Hussites, imperial army, fire, gunpowder explosion and even by earthquake. Every time, it was restored to its Gothic shape. In the 17th century, the castle was given a Baroque sgrafitto-decorated central house. Castle defenses were provided not only by a massive fortification walls, but also by its unusually deep and wide brick-lined moat. |
