Why choose the Czech Republic?

In today's fast paced, ever changing, hyper competitive world, event planners are faced with a myriad of choices when it comes time to decide on a destination. As clients become more and more knowledgeable, expectations rise and the pressure to make the right choice; the one in which the event goes off without a hitch, all the delegates go home happy and you're more energised than exhausted, is all too real.

All too often, however, things don't go according to plan, nerves fray, emotions reach the boiling point and you're left wondering not only why you didn't pick a different estination, but why you didn't pick a more reasonable line of work.

But it doesn't have to be that way. The Czech Republic offers you an alternative to the hassles, headaches and chaos, to frustrated delegates and near nervous breakdowns, to sterility and boredom. The Czech Republic offers an alternative that ensures the highest levels of both client and organizer satisfaction. An alternative steeped in culture and history, yet elegantly contemporary. An alternative that showcases the wonders of history, all the emotion, nerve and passion, from the comfort and ease of sophisticated and modern European business infrastructure. An alternative that allows your congress participants the freedom to create and innovate, to relax and concentrate, amid the opulent splendor of living history.

Just a step away

Situated in the heart of Europe, the Czech Republic has long been at the crossroads of European business and culture. For centuries, trade moving North and South, East and West, has passed through the Czech lands. Today the Czech Republic is more easily accessible than ever by road, rail and air. Prague International Airport, the largest in the country, services over 200 flights a day. And there are over 60 daily international connections from Holland, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, etc. by rail each day.

People have long been drawn to the Czech lands for a multitude of reasons. As a land of innovation and inspiration, the rolling hills, towering castles, forested steeps and pristine towns of Bohemia and Moravia have provided humanity with the space to explore, renew, focus, learn, create and succeed.

Over the years the Czech lands have undergone many changes as each and every generation, through the centuries, have left their mark. From the mysterious Celtic tribes to the great astronomers Galileo and Kepler, from Goethe to Mozart, Einstein to Kafka, Mendel to the Dali Lama and the Rolling Stones, from Holy Roman Emperors to the IMF and the heads of NATO, the Czech lands have been a magnet for the great and powerful, for those with the insight and will to shape human destiny. Now joining them in that experience has never been easier.

Where past and present meet

Today, this legacy of greatness, the palaces and grand cafes, spas and promenades, avant guard restaurants and majestic hotels, statues and towers, has helped to make the Czech lands a place at once ancient, deeply linked to the traditions of the past, and thoroughly modern, thriving in the present. A place that has marvelled tens of millions of tourists with its beauty and impressed them with its quality of service, accommodation and cuisine. A place where professionals from all walks of life and all corners of the globe meet to share ideas and shape the future of this planet we call home.

Built up over the centuries by the greatest architects, artists and craftsmen of their time, largely untouched by the wars of the 20th century, reclaimed and refurbished after 40 years of communism, on the eve of entry into the European Union, the Czech Republic is a splendid mosaic, a harmonious mix of the past, present and future that must be seen to be believed.

Quaint yet vibrant - a world of inspiration

On one hand, the 14 regions of the Czech Republic are quaint and quiet, the ideal place to focus. A small country of relatively small villages, towns and cities, with wholesome and hearty country folk living their lives amid the rolling hills and mountains of Bohemia and Moravia. A quiet place where it's easy to concentrate, the air is fresh and crisp, where groups can find the mental space and energy they need to succeed. On the other, the 14 regions of the Czech Republic are also extraordinarily vibrant, a multi-cultural feast of activities and experiences, a bastion of innovation and cutting edge international business. The Czech Republic is home to cosmopolitan executives, hip Bohemian artists and musicians, famous chefs, globe trotting adventurers, leading academics and researchers, entrepreneurs and investment bankers. A land alive with world renown festivals and concerts, tennis, golf and hockey tournaments, gushing mineral springs and babbling brooks, outdoor adventures, skiing, sailing, windsurfing and cycling. A land that knows how to play host, offering a rejuvenated tradition of Hapsburg Empire service and Succession era style. A land of smartly dressed waiters and smoky, romantic pubs, chic Italian restaurants and outdoor cafes, beer gardens and wine cellars, dumplings and goulash.

The inspiration to create and build, to experience the past and map out the the future is everywhere, making the Czech Republic an extraordinary venue for congresses and conventions. The energy that comes from meeting amid such vibrancy is contagious and the atmosphere unforgettable.

Warm hearted professionalism

There's more than one reason why the Czech lands have been referred to for so long as the heart of Europe. Physical location, Austria and the Alps to the South, Hungary and the Danube basin to the Southeast, Germany to the West, Poland to the North and Slovakia and the Tatras to the east, are only part of the reason. The other, and perhaps most important part, are the people. Warm hearted and generous, professional and discrete the Czechs understand the needs of today's events organizers and congress delegates. Over the decade or so after the 1989 Velvet Revolution, Czech tour operators, conference planners, destination management companies, hoteliers and restauranteurs have been aggressively studying the best in their fields from across the world, implementing the highest international standards of quality and service, and modernizing infrastructure to get the Czech Republic up to speed with global life in the 21st century. The results have been astonishing, the level of quality sky high. The IMF and World Bank have met here, as did the leaders of some of the most powerful nations on earth at the NATO summit in 2002. By all accounts, our guests were immensely satisfied by the facilities, accommodation, cuisine and perhaps most of all, by the undeniable charm of the Czech Republic.

Flexibility, experience, service

In today's world it's essential to be able to adapt to changing markets and evolving client needs. One lesson the Czech Republic has learned over the last decade is how to be fast, friendly and flexible when it comes to the needs of our guests. Event organizers and congress delegates alike should know that the Czech Republic is always ready, willing and able to meet the special needs of even the most demanding guests. From world leaders at international summits to small and medium sized business events, the Czech Republic is committed to serving its guests and catering to their every wish.

Over the last decade plus, the Czechs have gained an incredible amount of experience when it comes to organizing events, and we're here to help. Whether you require catering, a destination management company, tour operator, professional congress organizer, translation or guide services, charter flights or boat trips our dedicated experts are at your service, round the clock, ready to ensure that your next event is a grand success and that you can relax, put your feet up, smile and prepare yourself for all the praise you'll receive for a job well done.

Something for everyone

The diversity of the Czech lands, with so much history having passed through over the centuries, means that there is something for everyone, cuisine to suit every palate, culture, art, entertainment and accommodation to suit every taste.

There are 18 five-star hotels in the country, 175 four-star hotels, and over 1,000 three-star hotels with 7,500 five-star beds, 26,000 four-star beds and over 100,000 three-star beds. And even greater capacity is being built at this moment. Convention hotels can accommodate up to 1,500 people under one roof, convention centers have the capacity to support over 9,000 guests under one roof. The selection of meeting facilities is nearly limitless. The number of restaurants, cafes, bars, beds, 26,000 four-star beds and over 100,000 three-star beds. And even greater capacity is being built at this moment. Convention hotels can accommodate up to 1,500 people under one roof, convention centers have the capacity to support over 9,000 guests under one roof. The selection of meeting facilities is nearly limitless. The number of restaurants, cafes, bars, and night spots is in the tens of thousands. The possibilities for both business and pleasure are only limited by your own imagination. One unique feature of the Czech Republic often overlooked is how extraordinarily easy it is to get around once in the country. The road network is excellent, most major cities boast efficient and affordable tram and bus lines, Prague has its metro system. Better yet, the way in which Czech cities were designed makes them eminently walkable, with the historic districts centered around a town square or series of squares. For those not into public transport or walking everything from tour buses to taxis and limousines are at your disposal.

Simply put, the Czech Republic is one of the most unique places on the planet, a bold statement to be sure, but seeing is believing, just ask one of the tens of millions who have stopped by for a visit over the last few years. Breathtaking beauty combined with world class professionalism and facilities makes the Czech Republic an ideal venue for congresses, conventions and incentive tourism. The possibilities are truly endless. Have your next conference or convention, meeting or get together in the Czech Republic. The heart of Europe awaits you.
