Lázně Bělohrad is situated near the town of Jičín in the picturesque foothills of the Giant Mountains. Ann’s Peat Spa is named in honour of a Prussian princess who experimented with the beneficial effects of the local peat. The spa is encircled by natural parkland, great for relaxing walks and the venue for numerous music festivals in summer. Besides that, the city can also boast a historically valuable baroque chateau built by the Czech-Italian architect Giovanni Santini. The countryside around Bělohrad is a unique landscape of forests dotted with examples of Bohemian architecture. The peat treatments, the fresh mountain air and the tranquillity of the surrounding countryside all combine to make a stay here beneficial for those with an array of ailments.
