Picturesque spa in the mountains
History of a spa in Karlova Studánka is more than 200 years long. It is located at around 800 metres above sea level in the Hrubý Jeseník range in the charming valley of the White Opava River. About 10 kilometres from the spa is the highest mountain in Moravia, Praděd, at 1,491.6 metres above sea level. Karlova Studánka spa is surrounded by virgin forests and can boast of having the purest air in Central Europe. It is a very old spa village and dates back to the 14th century. The spa‘s original German name of Karlsbrunn was derived from the name of Archduke Karl Ludwig, who defeated Napoleon at the Battle of Aspern-Essling and used to come here to rest and hunt.
