Bechyně
A spa that has stood the test of time

The town of Bechyně can be found in the valley of the River Lužnice in South Bohemia around 25 kilometres south west of Tábor. The spa here is one of the oldest in the Czech Republic. Spa treatment has been provided here for three hundred years using local natural resources, namely mud brought from the nearby Komárov peat bog. Visitors to the town and spa guests can visit many local tourist attractions, especially Bechyně Chateau, the modern appearance of which is the result of the creativity of Petr Vok of the Rožmberk family, and the well-known bridge called the ‘Bechyně Rainbow’. The most valuable heritage site here is the monastery.

Free time activities

Those staying at the spa can make use of the bike rental, tennis courts, table tennis and snooker tables. Horse riding is another possibility. Some 6 kilometres outside Bechyně is the 1st South Bohemian Golf Club with a nine-hole course, a training area and a centre hiring out high-quality golf equipment. In the summer, you can have a tour of the tower of the Church of St. Matthew. Sightseeing is organised by the deaconry.
