| Description: | The city's stone walls were built after the stay of Charles IV in Polička in the second half of the 14th century. The fortification system consisted of the main walls, moats, moat walls, water moat and ramparts. The defence system was strengthened in the 16th century by four barbacans equipped with a drawbridge intended for protecting the city gates. Neither the gates nor the barbacans have been preserved.
