Tomáš Garrigue Masaryk (7.3.1850 - 14.9.1937)

Description:	The first Czechoslovakian president, Czech philosopher, pedagogue, politician, scientist and journalist. He was born in Hodonín, he spent his youth in Čejkovice. He entered the political and social scene during the Austrian monarchy. During World War I he organised anti-Austrian resistance towards establishing an independent Republic of Czechoslovakia. He was the President of Czechoslovakia from 1918 and abdicated in 1935 due to old age.
