- Aviation Fair between pylons, (June 7, 2019, Press centrum AP)
This year's 29th year of Aviation Fair of Ing. Jan Kaspar attracted more than 35,000 spectators to the Pardubice airport. They enjoyed more than a five-hour flight program on the sunny sky for both days, distinguished from the previous years by the Czech premiere of the Red Bull Air Race Demo, flown between inflated pylons by top Czech pilots Martin Sonka and Petr Kopfstein. Although it was not a real race, the audience was carried away by a unique atmosphere, and with both top pilots they literally lived through every pylon, they also received great applause and the interest in autographs of both pilots was immense.
Obviously, the vast majority of the flight program was in the spirit of the Aviation Fair tradition, and in the program composition, the audience in the Pardubice sky presented aircraft from various periods. Swarm of UL replicas of airplanes from the period of the First World War accompanied the duel of ground troops on the area of the open-air theater, representing first-war fights somewhere on Italian front. The second scene of the program was a demonstration of fighting in the suburbs of Paris in 1944, efficiently complemented from the air by P-51D Mustang. It has also performed with the Flying Bulls Aerobatics Team. The group is one of the permanent stars of Aviation Fair and this year it has participated for the 25th time. On the occasion of this round anniversary, they have included the world premiere of a new challenging feature called Double Mirror Loop, which is a double mirror in which the group will make a loop. Not only this novelty, but also the rest of the group's schedule received a huge applause.
The list of participating aircraft was long and, of course, such legends as the Spitfire or Mitchell bomber could not be missing. The spectators were awed by aerobatics on the Bo 105 helicopter, similar to the demonstration of the Czech Air Force Gripen fighter.
Traditionally, the Aviation Fair also includes a varied ground program in which the gems of automobile oldtimers, military equipment, firefighters, police forces, and the historic equipment and armament of military history clubs were presented this year. All expositions were besieged by inquisitive visitors. There was also a varied program for children, and the brass music concerts associated with majorettes and period fashion shows also provided a good mood for both days. Once again, the Aviation Fair delivered fun for the whole family, where everyone can choose according to their own interest.
The organizational staff of the Aviation Fair would like to thank all our partners and people who have contributed more or less to the success of this year's event. We also thank journalists for their exemplary media collaboration and media support. We are looking forward to meeting you at the jubilee thirtieth year of the Aviation Fair in 2020.
- Legendary Fifteen in Pardubice again, (May 15, 2019, Press centrum AP)
This year's Aviation Fair, taking place at the Pardubice Airport on June 1stand 2nd, includes a number of legendary aircraft types of world aviation. These include the MiG-15UTI jet aircraft, enriching the static presentation on the Aviation Fair this year.
"Fifteen is one of the most famous types of Soviet production, and is directly related to the Czechoslovak Air Force, and especially to our aviation industry," aviation journalist Petr Kolmann says and continues: „In 1951, just four years after the launch of the prototype in its country of origin, license production in Czechoslovakia was started. Czechoslovak aviation industry managed to produce not only fuselage and wings but demanding license production of complex parts, such as jet engines as well. Almost three and a half thousand MiG 15s were produced in Czechoslovakia, two thousand of which were the two-seat version MiG-15UTI, which will be presented at this year's Aviation Fair. The participation of the well-cared for machine from the Czech Flying Legends Association also fits into a wide variety of training planes, by which the organizers of the Aviation Fair commemorate a centenary of founding of the first military pilot school in Czechoslovakia. Two more anniversaries are associated with he two-seat MiG 15UTI this year. The first prototype of the two-seat version of the legendary Fifteen took off in the Soviet Union exactly seventy years ago, and the first MiG-15UTI from Czechoslovak license production flew sixty-five years ago.
More than five hours of packed flight program will include a number of other interesting aircraft. It will also include a unique and unrepeatable Czech premiere of the Red Bull Air Race, of course there will be a traditionally varied ground program with a diverse range of attractions, children's competitions and demonstrations of veterans, military, police and firefighting equipment. All this and much more at the Aviation Fair, taking place on 1stand 2ndJune at the Pardubice Airport.
- Unique helicopter aerobatics at Pardubice Airshow 2019, (May 13, 2019, Press centrum AP)
Aerobatics is always the highlight of any good airshow program. It may be solo or group acrobatics and both of these categories are represented in the program of this year's Aviation Fair, taking place on the weekend of June 1stand 2ndat Pardubice Airport.
There will be several aerobatic performers and the audience will be able to compare the style of flight demonstrations of individual pilots. One performance, however, cannot be compared to any other. The show is a unique demonstration of aerobatics with the Bo 105CB helicopter in Red Bull livery.
“What makes such aerobatics unique? Above all, it is performed by a helicopter. The usual helicopter types can not fly aerobatics and only a few types have a special design of helicopter rotor heads, " Jan Rudzinskyj of the organizational staff of the Aviation Fair introduces the unconventional aerobatic performance and continues:" The rotor head construction itself is not enough and serial helicopters with appropriate rotor head can not do aerobatic s, there are a number of other structural modifications to be able to do this. There`s only three helicopters in the world with all necessary modifications, one of which arrives at the Aviation Fair in Pardubice. Obviously, the skill of the pilot is a necessary prerequisite for a perfect demonstration. Flying a helicopter is a very challenging task in aerobatic maneuvers and very few pilots in the world can handle an inverted helicopter. The world leader is undoubtedly Siegfried "Blacky" Schwarz, who will perform in the skies of Pardubice. "
Helicopter aerobatics will become one of a series of flight demonstrations presented to visitors on June 1stand 2ndin the sky above the Pardubice airport. In addition, a varied ground program with a diverse range of attractions, children's competitions, veterans, military, police and firefighting techniques is traditionally prepared.
- Pardubice premiere, (May 2, 2019, Press centrum AP)
This year's Aviation Fair, taking place on 1st and 2nd of June at the Pardubice Airport, has several premieres in its program. The biggest surprise will be the unique Czech premiere of Red Bull Air Race. Fans of historical aircraft will certainly be pleased by the Pardubice premiere of Yak-11 trainer with a new display pilot.
“We expected the premiere of the restored Yak-11 already last year, but despite the efforts of the operator, state-owned company LOM Praha, the maiden flight did not happen until a week after last year's Aviation Fair, so the Pardubice premiere is waiting for this year's 29th year, ” says aviation journalist Petr Kolmann about the legendary training machine and continues: "The aircraft is of great importance for Czechoslovak aviation, because it was produced in the fifties in Kunovice under a license with designation C-11 in total number of 708 units. Even in comparison with almost four thousand original Yak-11 made
in the Soviet Union, this is a respectable number. Many pilots have been trained on the C-11s, and when they see a beautifully restored airplane belonging to the collections of the Military Historical Institute in Prague, they remember very well their beginnings and nice flying with this powerful training machine. Not only the performance and speed, but also the characteristic sound of a radial engine and unmistakable shape reminiscent of a World War II fighter, make the historic C-11 / Yak-11 a sought-after gem of airshows. ”
“This year, the legendary pilot Vladimír Peroutka retrained the new display pilot, Tomáš Bruštík from Pardubice Aviation Training Center, for the Yak or Jacíček, as he calls it lovingly. So we have a lot to look forward to, because during the rehearsals Tomáš shows that he is getting along with the historical Yak quite well, ”adds Jan Rudzinskyj from the organizational committee of the Aviation Fair.
In addition to other interesting aircraft, a laden ground program with a diverse range of attractions, children's competitions and oldtimer cars demonstrations, military, police and firefighting equipment will be prepared for visitors at the Pardubice Airport on 1st and 2nd of June.
- Legendary trainers of U. S. Air Force at Pardubice Airshow, (April 29, 2019, Press centrum AP)
Pardubice Airport has been associated with military pilot training for a quarter of a century and military training aircraft belong to the Pardubice airport. Visitors to this year's 29thAviation Fair will also be able to see for themselves on 1stand 2ndof June at the Pardubice airport. In addition to the current Air Training Center aircraft, two legendary trainer machines used to train American pilots in both World War II and subsequently since the late 1940s will be introduced to the audience as well.
“There are demanding requirements for training aircraft. They have to endure challenging traffic in flight schools, often endure inexperienced handling by student pilots, and forgive many mistakes, but on the other hand, they should not be basically flying themselves, ”says Jan Rudzinskyj from the Aviation Fair organizing committee and continues: “Both aircraft meet these requirements, as evidenced by the number of units produced, their long service and, above all, thousands of trained pilots. The older of the pair is the legendary Boeing Stearman biplane. Its origin falls into the first half of the thirties, but it was the main type for pilot training during World War II, when it was used not only by U. S Air Force and U. S. Navy pilots, but British RAF and several Czechoslovak pilots among others as well. The second type is essentially a successor to the Boeing Stearman in U. S. Air Force. It is Beechcraft T-34 Mentor and just by comparing the two aircraft the development of aviation during the Second World War is evident. This progress was also reflected in the design of the training machines, as Mentor is a all-metal low-wing monoplane with retractable landing gear and a closed canopy, providing much more comfort to the crew than the Boeing Stearman open cockpits. ”
A rich, more than five-hours long flight program will include a number of other interesting aircraft, ready for visitors at the Pardubice airport on June 1stand 2nd. It will also include a unique and unrepeatable Czech premiere of the Red Bull Air Race, and of course there will be a laden ground program with a diverse range of attractions, children's competitions and demonstrations.
- Red Bull Air Race Demo at the Aviation Fair 2019, (April 11, 2019, Press centrum AP)
In addition to a number of historic aircraft performances, this year's 29th annual Aviation Fair is preparing a big surprise. The flight program, which visitors will see in the skies of Pardubice on June 1st and 2nd, will include one of the most exciting, spectacular, new features - the Red Bull Air Race Demo.
Jan Rudzinskyj from the Aviation Fair committee shared a bit more about the unique Czech premiere of the fastest motorsport, thousands of fans dreamed of: “Some time ago, when we announced the participation of Martin Šonka in the Aviation Fair program, we promised everyone one more surprise. I am extremely pleased that we can talk about that promise today. In the past, we have had countless meetings to make the Red Bull Air Race Demo possible at Pardubice Airport. We also had to meet a number of very demanding requirements to fulfill safety and operating conditions with our partners and involved organizations. During the negotiations, strict compliance with all regulations was required, but at the same time there was a great deal of support for the demonstration race in Pardubice to take place. So today, we can officially announce Red Bull Air Race Demo will pump-up the Aviation Fair program by an unique demonstration of fast aircraft between pylons.
Certainly everyone is interested in how such a race will be organized. The program will include two rounds of the race, featuring four competitors. In addition to Czech representatives Martin Šonka and Petr Kopfstein, there will be two more. They will fly their airplanes through the track defined by five gates created using the familiar inflatable pylons. The main section of the track will be located directly in front of the main visitor area. The audience will be able to watch not only the competition flights, but similarly to the official races they will be able to see the preparations of pilots and their teams before the flight.
The two-round Demo race included with the other performances of the Aviation Fair will take place on both Saturday 1st June and Sunday 2nd June. It certainly will be an unique opportunity to see the fastest motorsport in the Czech skies. The complexity of technical security measures is challenging, so a similar demonstration will certainly not become a part of airshow programs. Who wants to see the superstars in the sky and between the pylons, has to visit the Aviation Fair 2019 on June 1st and 2nd. "
- The Mustang will roam over Pardubice again, (March 19, 2019, Press centrum AP)
Flying veterans of the Second World War inherently belong to the program of the Aviation Fair. This will also be the case for the 29th year, taking place at Pardubice Airport on 1st and 2nd of June. Legendary North American P-51D Mustang will be among the performers as well.
"From the audience's feedback in previous years of the Aviation Fair, we know that the performance of the P-51D Mustang as presented by the pilot Miroslav Sázavský in the skies of Pardubice, is something to be included in the program," says Jan Rudzinsky from the Aviation Fair's organizational committee and goes on about the airplane itself: "Mustangs of different versions have participated in a number of air battles during World War II and have undoubtedly become the most famous American fighter aircraft of that time and one of the legends in the history of the US Air Force. Watching the beautiful shiny beauty in the sky while listening to the distinctive sound of the twelve-cylinder Merlin producing nearly 1600 horsepowers is a real experience for everyone. Mustangs operated over the Protectorate at the end of World War II as well. They were part of the fighter defense of the Allied bombing raids, and as a part of air interdiction campaign they attacked locomotives, cars, and isolated ground targets on their own. Thus they disturbed the enemy's infrastructure in the deep rear. ”
The Mustang will also join one of the land scenes and become part of a large group of historic aircraft, whose flight in the Pardubice Sky has become a regular part of the Aviation Fair. It takes place on 1st and 2nd of June at the Pardubice airport.
- Martin Šonka, acting world champion in the Red Bull Air Race, will perform on the Aviation Fair, (February 18, 2019, Press centrum AP)
The preparations are already in full swing for this year's 21st annual Aviation Fair, taking place on 1st and 2nd of June at the Pardubice airport. One of the stars of the flight program will be a very popular aerobatic pilot and showman Martin Šonka.
Martin Šonka achieved a phenomenal success last year when he won the prestigious series of Red Bull Air Race races, becoming a world champion. "Before the last flight in final of Texas Worth Fort Worth, I heard on the radio that my rival Matt Hall has flown a super fast time, so I went into the race with the knowledge that we also need to be very fast and give it all. I chose a more risky trajectory, which I did not have to use before in the race, because there was no need to push so much.", Martin Šonka described the victorious flight tactic, that helped winning the title of the Red Bull Air Race World Champion for 2018 as a first Czech.
"Getting Martin Šonka to participate at an air show is complicated especially due to time constraints. Although he likes performing at the Aviation Fair, the race calendar and necessary training is of course a priority. Fortunately, this year's Aviation Fair does not collide with Martin's other activities, so audiences will be able to watch the world-renowned Red Bull Air Race world champion in the skies of Pardubice. The results of this year's first Red Bull Air Race, taking place on 9th of February in Abu Dhabi, UAE, show that Martin and his machine are in good shape, finishing just three-thousandths of a second behind the first competitor in the opening race. From this hardly imaginable time difference, it is obvious that from the beginning to the end it is a very exciting and attractive race, where the slightest mistake decides who will be the winner." Jan Rudzinsky of the Aviation Fair organization committee says and adds," We are delighted Martin Šonka will perform at the Aviation Fair, and we can now promise an interesting surprise to all fans and admirers of the fastest motorsport."
