Basic information
| Description: | The house of arts has its own seat in one of the most beautiful renaissance palaces of the town, which was built on the site of two former gothic buildings. The house was completed at the end of the1580s and is a unique example of development in the architectural styles during the transition from high gothic to renaissance. In 1945 it was confiscated by the Czechoslovakian state and at the beginning of the 1950s the palace was granted to be used for gallery purposes. |

| Description: | The art-history exposition “Old art of Znojmo” is created from a collection of 50 paintings and statues, related to the art history of southwest Moravia. The exposition of medaillist, academic sculptor J.T. Fischer presents a profile of the works of the Znojmo native, the student of prof. O. Španiel, who belongs among the most significant Moravian creators of fine sculptures. |
