Pardubice represents a Czech Late Gothic and Renaissance residential aristocratic city, the construction and artistic development of which occurred in the first half of the 16th century. The preservation zone includes the historic centre of the city demarcated by the original town walls, the chateau grounds with a defensive system of ramparts, and the area of the former water moat.
