(Prague,
April 2009)
No one knows whether the summer sky will indeed be cloudless, but a
sky full of music stars is already guaranteed. Fans will be able to
hear their favourite singers live as they visit the Czech Republic on
their tours. In addition to the rich festival schedule, it is worth
keeping track of individual concerts as well. And there is a lot to
choose from: the British band Radiohead will play their first ever
concert in the Czech Republic; both Limp Bizkit and Lenny Kravitz
will be performing in June; and the event of 2009 will be Madonna
live in concert, making her already second visit to Prague in the
past three years.
The
American group
Limp
Bizkit was
once a real sensation. After a rocket start, however, there came
problems: break-ups and quarrels. Hopefully all the problems have
been exorcised, and the original line-up will come to Prague's O2
Arena. They will perform on 18
June 2008
as part of their world tour (tickets CZK 890-1,190).
In
June,
the Brno velodrome will come to life with an energetic performance by
American multi-instrumentalist Lenny
Kravitz.
There, on 19
June 2009
under the open sky, he will perform hits from his latest album "It
is Time for a Love Revolution" and more. In Brno, fans of the
electric guitar can look forward to other names of high renown. On 4
July 2009,
the British heavy metal legends Motörhead
will perform here (tickets CZK 790-990).
American
blues guitarist
B.
B. King
recorded his first album back in 1949. On 15 July
2009,
he should present his latest album, which is also to be his last. But
considering that this eighty-year old doyen already said goodbye to
his active once in 2006, who knows... (tickets CZK 900-2,700).
When
Czech fans last
had the occasion to see pop-music queen Madonna
live, and even despite an added date, many missed out. This will not
happen this year: up to 75 thousand viewers should fit in the
open-air show in Prague-Chodov on 13
August 2009.
On the commercially most successful tour in history, the singer will
be accompanied by DJ and producer Paul Oakenfold (tickets CZK
995-7,995).
On
23
August 2008,
Radiohead,
led
by
charismatic
singer Thom Yorke, will perform for the first time in the Czech
Republic. As the band very rarely gives concerts in Central Europe,
even greater interest in their open-air concert at Prague's
Exhibition Grounds is expected (tickets CZK 1,090-1,740).
