The town of Bechyně can be found in the valley of the River Lužnice around 25 kilometres southwest of Tábor. The spa here is one of the oldest in the Czech Republic. Spa treatment has been provided here for three hundred years using local natural resources, namely mud brought from the nearby Komárov peat bog. The most valuable heritage site here is the late-Gothic Franciscan monastery.
Natural curative resources, medical indications
The local aromatic mud has a unique ability to transfer heat to the body seven times quicker than thermal mineral water. The mud is used for treatment and regeneration of the locomotive apparatus.
Free time activities
Visitors can make use of the bike-hire centre, tennis courts, table tennis and snooker tables. Horse riding is another possibility. Some 6 kilometres outside Bechyně is the 1st South Bohemian Golf Club with a nine-hole course, a training area and a centre hiring out highquality golf equipment. In the summer, you can have a tour of the tower of the Church of St. Matthew. Sightseeing is organised by the deaconry.
